The Bells for Remembrance Celebration is a public awareness program that provides information about breast health and encourages women to practice.

Good breast health including annual mammograms, clinical breast exams and breast self exams. Sponsored by the Breast Health Connection of Georgia and traditionally held on Mother's Day, this educational program is a simple yet powerful way to promote breast health within congregations, religious services, community gatherings, and worksite forums. The goal of the Bells for Remembrance program is to increase awareness of the importance of good breast health, and assure that women are aware of the resources within their community for information, screening, treatment and support.

In 2003, the Breast Health Connection's Bells for Remembrance program sponsored kickoff events in over 20 communities across the state. These events allowed participants to become educated about breast health, gave them educational materials for distribution to members, provided information on local resources and contacts and shared ideas that supported plans for a special Mother's Day service or May educational program.

The table of contents to the left outlines the guide the BHCG has developed to help community partners plan an event in their local communities to encourage local congregations and organizations to participate in a May Bells for Remembrance Celebration.
